Backlink Profile Analysis
/backlink-analysis
Claude Code reviews your backlink export to identify high-value links to protect, toxic patterns that warrant a disavow file, and competitor link gaps worth pursuing. It turns a raw link export into a structured link building and maintenance plan.
What this skill does
Classify backlinks by quality tier using domain authority, relevance, and link placement signals
Identify potentially toxic link patterns including link farms, PBNs, and spammy anchor text clusters
Find competitor link sources you're missing by comparing profile overlaps
Prioritize link reclamation opportunities from unlinked brand mentions and broken link targets
How to use it
Export your backlink data
Pull your backlink profile from Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz and export at least the top 1,000 links with domain rating and anchor text columns.
Run /backlink-analysis
Share the export and optionally add competitor domain exports for gap analysis.
Build your link plan
Use the tiered output to prioritize which links to protect, which to disavow, and which opportunities to pursue first.

Frequently asked questions
When should I use Google's disavow tool?
Only after receiving a manual penalty or if you have clear evidence of toxic link building in your history. Disavowing healthy links by mistake can hurt rankings. Claude Code flags genuinely suspicious patterns rather than disavowing aggressively based on low DA alone.
How do I find unlinked brand mentions to reclaim?
Use Google Alerts or Ahrefs Content Explorer to find mentions of your brand without a link. Claude Code can analyze the list of mentions you find and prioritize which sites are worth outreaching for a link based on their authority and traffic.
What makes a backlink high quality?
Topical relevance to your site's subject matter, editorial placement within content rather than footers or sidebars, and the linking domain having its own organic traffic. Claude Code scores links across these dimensions rather than relying on domain authority alone.
